First- through sixth-grade students enjoy a hands-on workshop focused on a science theme. These 45-minute activities add exciting, structured learning to your visit.

Electricity Excitement
Watch electricity in action as you create your own circuits. Get energized by conductors, insulators, wires, batteries and more!
Virginia Science SOL: 4.3
Simple Machines
Learn about levers, pulleys, screws and more. Test your new knowledge by using simple machines to solve all sorts of problems.

Space Exploration
Delve into outer space with exciting facts about our galaxy, space history, and rockets. Construct your own water rocket and launch it from the museum’s front lawn.

Discover what's living in your backyard. Examine Virginia's five regions and their natural resources.

Weather Watchers
Get wind of the basics of weather systems, weather tools and meteorology.

$10 per student (includes FREE exhibits admission). Add a second program for $4 per student
