Cafe Portico/Concessions Clerk

The Science Museum of Virginia seeks a part-time sales clerk for the Café Portico and IMAX Dome concessions stand to provide excellent customer service while assisting Museum guests with refreshments in a quick but courteous manner, accurately operate the cash register while performing various sales transactions in a fast-paced environment; stock and keep work area clean and well organized; be responsible for opening and closing procedures. The ideal candidate must enjoy working with the public, be self motivated and work well independently and as a team member. Qualifications: Prior experience in customer service; opening and closing duties and cash register operations are required. Prior experience in a retail food service and/or specialty retail environment. Excellent problem solving and oral communication skills are required. Ability to lift 50 pounds is required. Weekday, weekend, nights and holiday availability is required. Hours range from 15-30 per week. The following qualifications are preferred: barista experience, enjoy working with children, and comfortable working with crowds in a fast-paced environment. This is an hourly position that includes a Museum membership. The anticipated starting rate is $9.65 per hour.
