All aboard for a very special birthday party at the Science Museum of Virginia!

Your child’s unforgettable birthday party in Chessie, the yellow caboose, includes:

• 1 1/2 hours of party time in the party caboose,

Princesses and Princes

Create your own crown and "magic" wand.

Ocean Adventure

Design an ornament of your favorite sea creature and check out live fish in our aquarium.

Swingin' Safari

Make a magnet featuring your favorite safari animal and venture to our BioLabs to check out live snakes and other critters.

Space Odyssey

You're an astronaut as you walk on the moon and launch your own rocket! (Children must weigh at least 50 pounds to experience the Moon Walk.)

Party times are available Monday–Saturday at 10:30 a.m., 1 and 3:30 p.m.; Sunday at 1 and 3:30 p.m. Fee: $275 ($225 for museum members) for up to 15 children (ages 4–12). Adults are free and welcome. A $50 deposit is due at the time you reserve your party. Full payment is due on the party date. Call the Birthday Party Hotline at (804) 864-1480 to reserve your time!

Additional options

Add an IMAX® DOME movie for $8 per person ($9 for feature-length films). One adult is free with every five children.
