Music is powerful. It can get you pumped up, relax you, make you sad, elicit joy, spark a memory, create a connection, and more. Those reactions to a song are part of you being present in your mind and body. Even the short time it takes you to experience your favorite piece of music gives you the chance to listen, notice, and reflect on how you feel, which can help improve overall wellness.

In this presentation, learn about basic principles of music therapy and mindfulness. Mental Health Awareness Month is the perfect time to explore how rhythm and harmony can be incorporated into your toolbox for coping with and responding to life’s challenges.
