Mind If We Play?!

No matter which type is your favorite, you can’t play games without using your brain. Join us for Science After Dark: Brain Games and put your brain power to work with a variety of entertaining and educational games. Our building will be full of activities and challenges to test your memory, reflexes, reaction time, engineering skills and more. Ready, set, go!

  • What’s better than board games? Really big board games! And bigger boards means bigger fun. Engage your engineering skills with oversized Jenga, test your memory with massive matching, show off your supercolossal strategies with Tic-Tac-Toe and strike a pose with giant Twister.
  • Put your scientific skills to the test with STEM-focused games about animal prints, food webs, plants and peptides. Plus there will be games that test your reaction time and pattern recognition, and help build your observation skills.
  • Animals need to play, too! Visit the Eco Lab to learn all about the enrichment games we play with our rats. Instead of their usual basketball dunks, our rats will be running a maze.
  • Are you feeling lucky? Then stop by the Challenge Lab to explore probability with the dice game Tenzi. You could win a prize!
  • And we’ll have stations hidden throughout the building. See if you can seek them and solve the puzzle. (Note: hidden in plain sight still counts as hidden.)

Guests can also enjoy live astronomy shows in The Dome at 6:30 and 7:15 p.m. No tickets are required. Each show is open to the first 250 guests.

Science After Dark admission is $16 for adults; $13.50 for youth (ages 6–12) and seniors (ages 60 and older) and $10 for preschool-aged children (ages 3–5). Science After Dark admission is free for Museum members, children under 2, educators, military and college students with a valid ID.
