See illuminated images from NOAA on a six-foot-diameter suspended globe!
Science On a Sphere is a room-sized global display system that projects images culled from scientific data onto a six-foot-diameter sphere suspended from the ceiling.
Guests can view real-time data of global cloud cover, earthquakes, our sun, the Earth at night, active volcanoes, a typical 24-hour day of global commercial air traffic, the spread of the 2009 H1N1 influenza pandemic, various planets, Facebook friend connections around the world and so much more.
Researchers at NOAA developed SOS® as an educational tool to help illustrate Earth systems and space science for people of all ages. The Museum's SOS® is one of less than 150 on display in public institutions across the globe.
See atmospheric storms, climate change, active earthquakes, volcanoes, ocean temperature changes on our planet, and beyond.
"I had no idea how much fun and learning this museum has to offer. Great for all ages!"
