Keep the learning fun going over the summer!
If you're looking for a camp experience that will give your future scientist a summer full of fun while keeping curious brains engaged, then camps at the Science Museum are your destination!
Each week, we will explore a new and exciting STEM topic. Campers can participate in one week or register for all six if your camper loves STEM as much as we do.
Our campers are divided into two groups–rising 1–3 and 4–6 graders–so we can tailor activities for each age group. Camps include opportunities to explore Science Museum exhibitions, watch features in The Dome and participate in a variety of interactive science programs. All of our campers get a special visit each week from an expert in the field, and they get to experience our summer touring exhibition Space: An Out-of-Gravity Experience.
Check out our weekly camp themes below, and be sure to scroll to the bottom of the page for details on camp pricing, camp hours and after care, health and safety protocols and more.
From deserts and caves to ice and snow, plants are determined to grow everywhere! Campers will nurture their green thumbs and grow their knowledge about the science of horticulture.
Light is fundamental to our everyday lives, but how often do you stop and think about it? Campers will learn all about different forms of light and how they influence our world.
Robots are all around us! But you can’t have robots without robotics. Campers will learn all about robotics from design and engineering to programming and coding.
Our planet has thousands of environments, each offering benefits and challenges to their inhabitants. Campers will learn about environments all over the world and what it takes to survive there.
The maker movement is here to stay. Campers will harness their creativity and problem solving skills as they generate ideas and tap into their inner inventor during this week of making!
Space exploration is perhaps one of the most fascinating, awe inspiring and difficult feats for humans! Campers will learn what it takes to travel in space and the technology that makes it possible.
Summer camp is $300 for members and $350 for non-members. Camp fees include a daily snack, camp t-shirt, water bottle and all camp activities. Campers will need to bring their own lunch to help energize them for our scientific adventures.
Camps will be held from 9 a.m.–3 p.m., Monday through Friday. After-camp care is available until 5:30 p.m. for $50 per week, per child to help make these extraordinary experiences possible for all schedules. Families must register prior to using this service.

Summer camps are popular and will sell out. If the camp you would like to attend is sold out, please click here to be added to the waitlist. If a camp spot opens, we will first email all Science Museum members on the waitlist at the same time. If the spot remains open after 24 hours, we will email the rest of the waitlist. We will do this any time a spot opens in a camp.
The Science Museum is pleased to offer a limited number of weekly summer camp scholarships to its Museums for All member families. If you are a current Museums for All member and would like to learn more about summer camp scholarships, please click here. If you are interested in becoming a Museums for All member, click here.
After registering for camp, please send in the completed emergency medical form and media release located inside the 2023 Summer Camp Guide to summercamps@smv.org.
