Light is fundamental to our everyday lives, but how often do you stop and think about it? Campers will learn all about different forms of light and how they influence our world.
How is light used in photography, both in the past using film and now in digital effects? Are lasers used for more than intergalactic battles (answer: yes)? What’s the deal with invisible light? Campers will explore all of this plus lights in the natural world, like bioluminescent animals and plants and light phenomena like eclipses and the Aurora Borealis.
This week is all about shedding light on … light!
Summer camp is $300 for members and $350 for non-members. Camp fees include a daily snack, camp t-shirt, water bottle and all camp activities. Campers will need to bring their own lunch to help energize them for our scientific adventures.
Camps will be held from 9 a.m.–3 p.m., Monday through Friday. After-camp care is available until 5:30 p.m. for $50 per week, per child to help make these extraordinary experiences possible for all schedules. Families must register prior to using this service.
