Join us and the Richmond Astronomical Society (RAS) on the Museum’s front lawn to view the only total lunar eclipse visible in Virginia this year! Watch the moon turn red in the night sky as the Earth’s shadow totally eclipses the moon just after midnight. Bring your own telescope or use those provided by RAS to see the entire eclipse unfold right before your eyes. Dress warmly; it's supposed to be very cold Sunday night (it’s January, after all). Weather permitting; check our social media channels for weather-related updates.
When: Sunday, January 20 at 10 pm to Monday, January 21 at 1 am
This special Skywatch event is free; no registration required. No Museum exhibits will be open at this time; restroom access only. Please check our social media channels for updates.
