What: The Science Museum of Virginia has been enlightening community members and illuminating the fun in STEM for decades, but this year the GLOW event is brighter than ever!
Guests can groove at a dazzling dance party, sip luminescent drinks, make constellation creations, challenge friends to glow games, craft black light spin art, reveal secret messages using special lights and much more.
In addition, the Science Museum’s education team is offering live Science of Glow demos at 3:30, 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. and taking guests on a guided journey through the cosmos during live astronomy shows in the planetarium at 3, 4, 6 and 7 p.m.
When: GLOW takes place Saturday, Feb. 3. The Science Museum opens at 9:30 a.m. GLOW activities are from 2-8 p.m.
Why: GLOW is one of the Science Museum’s most popular events, attracting thousands in 2023. Once a Science After Dark, this neon-lit adventure has grown so much the Science Museum has moved it to a weekend and is staying open late to provide more time to experience all the programming.
Who: Guests of all ages can explore the Science Museum’s exhibitions, labs and makerspace plus participate in the numerous GLOW activities. Guests are encouraged to don their best neon attire to celebrate the festive function!
River City Wood Fire Pizza and Goatocado will be onsite so guests can grab some dinner to fuel the fun.
How: All GLOW activities are included with Science Museum admission.
To control the flow of guests, the Science Museum is offering timed tickets to the event. All, including members, are encouraged to reserve tickets on the Science Museum’s website before the event to secure their top-choice entry time. Seating for demos and live astronomy shows is first come, first served.
