Digital Demo Fees and Booking Policies

In Museum Group Booking Policies

We strive to give all guests the best experience possible, so we staff appropriately to support group visits. To allow us to provide an unforgettable experience for your group, we ask that you observe the below group policies:

  • Payment and a final group count is due two weeks prior to arrival and can be made by check or credit card. If you require an invoice for payment, please let a Group Adventures Associate know when you book your visit.
  • Final Numbers can only be changed up to seven (7) days prior to your visit. After this time your numbers cannot be adjusted.
  • On the day of your visit, if additional guests join your group, those guests will receive the general admission price.
  • On the day of your visit, if a guest in your group does not attend, the group leader will be given a voucher for that guest to return to the Science Museum another day. Individual refunds cannot be issued.
  • Payment will be due at booking for visits booked within two weeks of arrival

Group Visit Fees

Discounted group admission is available for groups of 10 or more paying guests. Guests who qualify for free admission (guests 2 and younger or teachers, for example) do not count toward the total group number.

Exhibitions Only

  • $10 per person

Exhibitions + Dome

  • $14 per person

A Live Science Program can be added to your group visit for an additional $4 per person.

Arriving at the Museum

The group leader should come to the front desk and check in with our Guest Services staff. They will confirm your schedule for the day, provide the admission stickers for everyone in the group, and a stylus for use on the touchscreen exhibits. Please ask all students and chaperones to stay on the buses, a Guest Services associate will greet each bus and go over the Science Museum rules, and your group's schedule for the day.

Coat and Backpack Policy

To reduce the number of lost and found items, we ask that all students leave coats and backpacks on the bus, if possible. We do not have storage areas for coats or backpacks.

Chaperone Policy

We require one adult chaperone per 10 students for grades pre K–12. Students must be accompanied by a chaperone at all times while in the Science Museum.

Lunches

Lunches will be scheduled on a first come first served basis when your group arrives at the Science Museum. A lunch spot and time are not guaranteed, be prepared to eat on your buses or on the lawn if no spots are available.

Our Guest Services staff will bring out a lunch bin, for your students to put their lunches in. Your group's lunches will be delivered to your location at the scheduled time, and then brought back to the main exit for your departure.

Live Science Programs

Live Science Programs must be scheduled two weeks in advance because space is very limited.

All Live Science Programs are about 30 minutes long. We will ask that your group meet at the Foucault Pendulum 15 minutes before your demonstration start time, and one of our educators will bring your group to their classroom.

Dome Features

Groups can add a Dome feature to their visit for $4 per person.

  • Our current Dome show times are 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
  • Groups of at least 35 can request a special Dome showing from anything in our public library at one of the standard times listed above—if no ticket sales have been made on the date and time of their choosing.
  • Groups of at least 75 can also book any Dome feature from our public library and can reserve a special noon time spot.

Homeschool Groups

All of the standard group booking policies apply to homeschool groups. A minimum of 10 paying guests are required to qualify for the group rate and to book a Live Science Program. Please note: because groups enjoy a special discounted rate and Live Science programming involves staffing resources, we do not allow Science Museum memberships to be used with group bookings.

Bus Parking

The Guest Services associate who greets the students on the bus upon arrival will direct the bus driver where to park and provide a map. Due to parking lot construction we are directing all buses to park along Leigh Street. Buses cannot park in our main parking lot at this time.
