Whether you have already booked a field trip with us, or are interested in bringing your group to the Museum, this page has all the information you will need to prepare for your visit!
We strive to give all guests the best experience possible, so we staff appropriately to support group visits. To allow us to provide an unforgettable experience for your group, we ask that you observe the below group policies:
Discounted group admission is available for groups of 10 or more.
Exhibits + Dome
Live Science Demonstrations cannot be added to group visits at this time. We look forward to bringing them back soon! Once available, a Live Science Demonstrations can be added to your group visit for an additional $4 per person.
The group leader should come to the front desk and check in with our Guest Services staff. They will confirm your schedule for the day, provide the admission stickers for everyone in the group, and a stylus for use on the touchscreen exhibits. Please ask all students and chaperones to stay on the buses, a Guest Services associate will greet each bus and go over the Museum rules, and your groups schedule for the day.
To reduce the number of lost and found items, we ask that all students leave coats and backpacks on the bus, if possible. We do not have storage areas for coats or backpacks.
We require one adult chaperone per 10 students for grades pre K–12. Students must be accompanied by a chaperone at all times while in the Museum.
Lunches will be scheduled on a first come first served basis when your group arrives at the Museum. Our Guest Services staff will bring out a lunch bin, for your students to put their lunches in. Your group's lunches will be delivered to your location at the scheduled time, and then brought back to the main exit for your departure.
Live Science Demonstrations are not available at this time. We look forward to bringing them back soon! Once they are available, Live Science Demonstrations must be scheduled two weeks in advance because space is very limited.
All Live Science Demonstrations are about 30 minutes long. We will ask that your group meet at the Pendulum 15 minutes before your demonstration start time, and one of our educators will bring your group to their classroom.
Groups can add a Dome feature playing in our current schedule to their visit for $4 per person. Seating is limited so if you know you would like to see a Dome feature while you visit, we recommend adding that feature at the time you book your visit. Groups can add Dome features the day of their visit, subject to availability. Dome features last about 45 minutes.
At this time, groups cannot request a special Dome feature from our full Dome library, but we’re looking forward to bringing that option back soon.
All of the standard group booking policies apply to homeschool groups. A minimum of 10 people are required to qualify for the group rate and to book a Live Science Demonstration.
