Illuminating the Fun in STEM!

Through hands-on activities, live demos and special shows, you can experience all things glow-in-the-dark and luminescent. This neon-lit adventure always gets glowing reviews! Below are the details of the day. Even more information is available in our event FAQs.

Create psychedelic effects and colorful views by making diffraction glasses in The Forge.

Dust off your old LA Lights and break out your neon as we’ll have a black light dance party with glow sticks.

Prepare to be beaming with Movie Magic Laser Shows and astronomy shows happening in The Dome all day.

Discover the glowing science of a live demo that will shine light on spectacular chemical reactions.

Experience a black light extravaganza in our GLOW room with phosphorescent tiles, a highlighter table, shadow boxes, light up building blocks, arcade games and more.

And while you’re here, explore the touring exhibition The Power of Poison to discover how poison, venom and toxins impact our world — sometimes for good!

Bonus! Guests can fuel up with snacks from several food trucks that will be on-site for part of the day. Food trucks are scheduled to be onsite from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. Concessions will also be available throughout the day.

Dome Schedule

Two features will be playing in The Dome during GLOW, Laser Show: Movie Magic and a live astronomy show! Check out our FAQs for details on the two features.

Admission

GLOW runs from 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. The Science Museum will remain open until 5 p.m., but please note that LightPlace, the Dewey Gottwald Center and The Forum will close at 4:30 p.m. To help ensure a superior guest experience, we’re offering timed tickets for entry and tickets are limited at each entry window. The last entry time will be 3:30 p.m. Tickets are not transferable and they cannot be resold.

All guests, including members, should get their tickets on the Science Museum’s website prior to the event. Tickets will only be available at the door if the event is not sold out.

GLOW activities except Dome features are included with Science Museum admission, which is $18.50 for adults; $15.50 for youth (ages 6–12) and seniors (ages 60 and older) and $11 for preschool-aged children (ages 3–5). Admission is free for Science Museum members and children 2 and under. EBT cardholders receive a discount.

Dome tickets are $5 per show. Guests are encouraged to add Dome show tickets when they purchase their GLOW tickets online as onsite tickets will only be sold if available. Guests must add their admission ticket to their cart, followed by their GLOW ticket, to reserve both for their visit. Members can use a Dome pass.
