Step into the role of a paleontologist and maker! In this hands-on activity, visitors of all ages will learn how to create a simple sand mold and cast their own mini dinosaur fossil using plaster. Explore the science behind fossilization, molding, and casting while crafting a prehistoric keepsake to take home. Dig into creativity and discover how ancient history meets modern making!

This workshop will be held at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on July 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 28, 29, 30 and 31.

About Maker Workshops

Forge Workshops are included with Science Museum admission. Advance registration is required for all guests including members. Maker Workshops are 45-minute experiences led by Forge Facilitators. These project-based workshops result in a take-home item and are limited to 12 participants. All participants in this workshop must be 8 years or older. Participants under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
