Join us September 9 as VCU head men’s basketball coach Phil Martelli Jr. discusses the crossover between science and athlete development in this engaging preseason conversation.

Martelli led VCU to the NCAA Tournament’s second round in his first year down West Broad Street from the Science Museum. Martelli has won 68% of his games as a head coach and brought VCU and Bryant to NCAA Tournament appearances over the last two seasons.

Tip off your morning with this look at science, data and hoops from a championship-winning coach.

Registration Information

Sunrise Science begins at 8 a.m. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. so you can grab a complimentary cup of coffee or tea to enjoy during the talk. Each presentation includes time for audience questions at the end. The event will conclude by 9 a.m. so you can continue on with your day, but with a little extra science to fill your cup of knowledge!

Sunrise Science events are free. Tickets are capped due to fixed seating in The Dome. Guests will be asked to fill all available seats.

All guests, including members, should make a reservation on the Science Museum’s website prior to the event. Tickets will only be available at the door if the event is not sold out. If you reserved tickets and can’t attend, please contact Guest Services at [email protected] or 804.864.1400 so we can make those spaces available for other guests.

Science Museum exhibitions are not open during Sunrise Science events.
