Maker Challenge: Soaring Reindeer

Take to the skies in this hands-on holiday-themed engineering challenge! Design and build your own reindeer using everyday craft materials—then put your creation to the test in our vertical wind tunnel. Experiment with shape, balance, and aerodynamics as you work to make your reindeer lift off, hover, or soar! Will your design take flight? Discover the science behind airflow, lift, and creativity in this exciting and festive challenge!

This challenge will be held Monday–Saturday between 10 a.m.–5 p.m. except for the following dates in December 24, 25 and 28.

About Maker Challenges

Stop by The Forge anytime during Maker Challenge hours! No registration is required and you can stay for 15 minutes or the full 2 hours!

Maker Challenges are included with Science Museum admission and are designed for learners of all ages. Use your creativity and critical thinking skills to build solutions to fun challenges! New and different challenges happen each month.

Advance registration is not required, but space is limited to 25 participants at a time. All participants must be at least 8 years or older. Participants under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
