Get ready for a really fun-gi time as you learn the art of hand sewing by creating your very own felt plush mushroom in The Forge. As you stitch, you’ll uncover some of the amazing secrets of mushrooms–how they help forests grow, recycle nutrients and even glow in the dark! Perfect for beginners and seasoned crafters alike, this workshop blends creativity with science—plus, you’ll take home a soft, handmade mushroom as a one-of-a-kind souvenir.
This workshop will be held at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on October 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25.
Forge Workshops are included with Science Museum admission. Advance registration is required for all guests including members. This can be done online when buying your tickets or in person at the Guest Services desk. Please note, Forge Workshops often fill up quickly. Maker Workshops are 45-minute experiences led by Forge Facilitators. These project-based workshops result in a take-home item and are limited to 12 participants. All participants in this workshop must be 8 years or older. Participants under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
