Come be WOWed by all the fun resources available!

We know how important field trips are to help bring classroom lessons to life. We also know teachers want access to a wide variety of resources to help engage students in the materials they need to cover.

At our Resource Fair on January 11, teachers can speak directly with Science Museum educators to learn all the ins and outs of field trip planning. How many students can attend a live demo? What’s the best Dome show to match environmental science SOLs? What resources are available to connect students to topics we're covering in the classroom?

And that's not all—this time, we’re introducing something exciting! A variety of organizations from across the state will be available to connect teachers with resources designed to engage and inspire student learning in and out of the classroom.

  • American Institute of Architects (AIA) Virginia
  • Department of Conservation and Recreation
  • James River Association
  • NASA's Virginia Space Grant Consortium
  • Office of Data Governance and Analytics
  • Project Learning Tree and the Virginia Department of Forestry
  • Richmond Joint Engineers Council
  • Virginia Association of Science Teachers
  • Virginia Department of Aviation
  • Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation
  • Virginia State Parks
  • Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources
  • Virginia Lottery
  • Virginia Section of the American Chemical Society

Plus, there will be drawings and door prizes for amazing goodies, like a classroom weather station!

Admission

Teachers always receive free regular admission to the Science Museum, but during our Teacher Resource Fair, we're showing our appreciation for all educators do by giving them the chance to bring up guests for free and see a feature in The Dome.

The Teacher Open House is open to public school, private school and homeschool teachers. Please be prepared to show your teacher ID or homeschool letter of intent.

Teachers may register for themselves and may bring up to three guests for free. If you would like to add additional guests, you can purchase their tickets for $10 per person.

Teacher Resource Fair attendees may get their complimentary Dome tickets onsite the day of the event. Here’s The Dome schedule that day:

  • 10:30 a.m. Superhuman Body
  • 12 p.m. Big Astronomy
  • 2 p.m. Animal Kingdom
  • 3:30 p.m. Living Worlds

Any additional guests can get in for the discounted rate of $10 per person. All guests must be checked in at the same time.
