As a proud member of the Museums for All national initiative to make quality museum learning experiences available to everyone, the Science Museum offers a reduced-rate membership for limited-resource families. For $25, two adults and all children under 18 in the household receive a year of free regular admission.

The Museums for All membership gives limited-resource families a full year to come back again and again to play air hockey against a robot, race a T-rex, test reflexes, build simple machines, watch rats play basketball and much more!

How to Join

Head to the Science Museum and visit Guest Services upon your arrival. They will collect your contact information and verify your financial assistance status using materials issued by a Virginia government agency.

To qualify for a Museum for All membership, in addition to a valid photo ID, you must present one of the following:

  • Physical Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) card
  • Physical Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card
  • Show the Fresh EBT app on your phone
  • Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) paperwork
  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) paperwork
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI) paperwork
  • Medicaid card
  • Children's Health Insurance (FAMIS) card
  • Virginia Refugee Resettlement Program paperwork

When your membership is up for renewal, the Science Museum will request updated financial assistance documentation to verify you still quality for the Museums for All program.
