Difficulty Hearing? We're Here to Help!

Open Captioning System

  • The Dome theater is equipped with open captions for select features to assist guests who are deaf or hard-of-hearing. Contact us to learn about captioning options for your feature of interest. Please visit Guest Services in the lobby to make arrangements at least one hour before your show time.

ASL Interpreters

  • ASL (American Sign Language) interpretation often provides the most effective communication for people who are deaf. An interpreter can be arranged to provide tours of the Museum or supplement any of the Museum’s live science labs and demos. Please make arrangements for an interpreter at least two weeks prior to your visit by contacting us.

Assistive Listening Technology

  • All of the Science Museum’s major theaters and event spaces offer Listen Tech RF assistive listening technology. Please visit Guest Services for details.

Service Animals

  • Service dogs are welcome at the Science Museum.
  • Science Museum staff may ask that a service dog be removed if it is out of control and the handler does not take effective action to control it or it is not housebroken. If this occurs, the individual will be given the opportunity to remain at the Science Museum without the animal.
