Every two seconds, someone needs blood in the U.S and approximately 29,000 units of red blood cells are needed daily. The urgent need for blood and platelets, which can only come from donors and cannot be manufactured, underscores the importance of blood donation.
Join the Science Museum on Friday, May 16, from 9:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. for a blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross. By donating blood, you can help trauma and burn victims, patients battling cancer, people living with chronic illnesses and so much more. In fact, studies have shown that helping others can reduce the impact of daily stressors on our mental health.
The American Red Cross needs participation from all blood types, but especially from Type O donors! Type O positive and Type O negative donors will receive a $20 e-gift card from a selection from merchants and be entered to win a trip within the United States!
