Bring your sleeping bag and join us for an unforgettable night full of exploration and adventure.
June 10, 6 p.m. to
Sunday, June 11, at 9 a.m.
We’re going all out for this unforgettable night full of exploration and adventure. That’s right, instead of spending the night inside the Science Museum, we’re moving the fun outdoors!
Explorers are invited to grab their backpack, roll out their sleeping bag, pitch a tent and join us for s’more camping-themed STEM experiences. All trails lead to fun!
Saturday night is packed with hands-on activities. Campers can create bracelets and keyrings out of a must-have camping accessory: paracord. To encourage a little friendly competition between campsite neighbors, guests can enjoy lawn games, like corn hole and badminton.
Sleeping under the stars will get campers excited for the constellation viewer, star wheel and satellite building activities. After a live astronomy show followed by a journey through some of North America’s most beautiful landscapes in Into America’s Wild in The Dome, it's time to turn the flashlights off for a memorable urban camping experience.
On Sunday, after fueling up from breakfast and packing up the campsite (there’s some serious engineering involved in getting a tent back in its bag!), campers can explore the Science Museum's three floors of exhibitions and labs. They can also take advantage of early access to the gift shop to purchase items to map out STEM exploration at home.
Curiosity Camp Out takes place from Saturday, June 10, at 6 p.m. to Sunday, June 11, at 9 a.m. Activities are designed for campers age 8–14, but anyone older than 7 may attend.
