Extended Fridays

Summer days are longer. At the Science Museum of Virginia, Friday fun is longer, too. We’re open until 8 p.m. on Fridays through Labor Day with experiences for guests of all ages.

Whether you’re winding down a busy week with the family or looking for a unique start to a date night, spend your Friday nights this summer exploring with us. Much like the sloth, it’s a good hang.

All of your favorite experiences—from Speed and Boost to The Forge and our labs—will be open for exploration.

Be sure to add the touring exhibition Survival of the Slowest to your visit to see a sloth, tenrec, snakes and more! We’ll hold a Keeper Talk at 6 p.m. to learn from wildlife experts—and the visiting animals.

You can also take your seat in The Dome for one of two giant screen films featured during extended hours. Dive into Secrets of the Sea at 5:30 p.m. or trot to Virginia’s largest screen to experience Horse Power at 6:30 p.m. It’s a must-see addition to your evening.

Guests 21+ can enjoy an adult beverage available at concessions on their Friday evening exploration.
