Where do elements that support human life come from? Why is there so much diversity among planet structure and composition? What factors make the biggest difference in human survival in space?

Find the answers to these questions—and more—in the Science Museum’s new permanent exhibition, Orbit.

Orbit’s custom, interactive exhibits explore topics such as physics, astronomy, biology and engineering in a gallery with design elements inspired by spacecraft.

  • Alter gravitational pull using your hands.
  • Design your own planet by customizing features such as size, tilt and atmosphere.
  • Think like an astronaut by monitoring the spacecraft’s energy and oxygen levels while making strategic decisions about which onboard systems to prioritize.
  • Interact with a dynamic screen that depicts your body as a colorful silhouettes of particles, accurately representing the proportion of elements in the body that were sourced from ancient stars and the Big Bang.
  • Stay tuned for even more planned activities and exhibits; Orbit will be installed in phases.

Orbit provides an out-of-this-world experience you can’t get anywhere else. Get ready for your cosmic journey!

Orbit is presented by American Pacific Corporation and Calca Solutions, subsidiaries of NewMarket Corporation.
