The Science Museum is pleased to offer an encore opportunity to hear Phoebe Bridgers’ newest album Lost Weekend with a custom Dome show designed by renowned night-sky photographer Babak Tafreshi, an atmospheric perspective that turns your listen into a shared sonic and visual experience. If you missed the pre-release event, here’s your second chance!
Note: This is not a performance, and Phoebe Bridgers will not be in attendance.
Presented on The Dome’s immersive screen, acclaimed photographer and National Geographic night sky explorer Babak Tafreshi presents a visual experience culminating from two decades spent documenting extraordinary nocturnal scenes around the globe. Experience Lost Weekend in a breathtaking audiovisual journey that travels from the star-filled skies of Madagascar and the shimmering Northern Lights above Iceland's glaciers to the powerful storms across Texas. Filmed in nearly 20 countries, with no computer-generated imagery, this show brings audiences closer to the natural world through stunning nightscapes that blend music, science, art and a sense of discovery. The experience invites audiences to reflect on our connection to the universe while celebrating the beauty of dark skies. Presented in partnership with COSM.
Event Details
The approximate run time of the show will be one hour. We’re offering two performances of the same program in The Dome on Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6. Both shows will be at 4 p.m.
Guests can add the Phoebe Bridgers: Lost Weekend Planetarium Experience to their Science Museum admission for $5; members can use a Dome pass. If guests do not want to explore the Science Museum before the show, a show-only ticket can be purchased for $9. Each show can seat 250 guests. Once 250 tickets have been purchased for a showing, that time slot is sold out.
Additional Info
Guests can purchase candy, popcorn and drinks from concessions before the start of the show. Alcoholic beverages will not be sold for this event. Food and beverages may be taken into The Dome and enjoyed during the show. Shows begin promptly at 4 p.m., so plan ahead to ensure you have enough time to purchase concessions before the show begins.
The Phoebe Bridgers Lost Weekend Planetarium Experience is open to all ages. Some of the artist’s music may refer to adult themes or include adult language. Guests should use their own discretion to determine if this show is appropriate for younger guests.
Note: The show will feature moving images and music in an immersive environment. It may not be suitable or cause discomfort for guests with light or sound sensitivities, sensory concerns or certain pre-existing conditions.
Science Museum exhibitions will not be open after the event. Guests will need to exit the Science Museum after the event concludes.
