Ahead of its worldwide release on August 14 via Dead Oceans, Phoebe Bridgers' newest album Lost Weekend will debut in full inside planetariums around the globe. The Science Museum is pleased to offer an album preview event with a custom Dome show designed by renowned night-sky photographer Babak Tafreshi, an atmospheric perspective that turns your first listen into a shared sonic and visual experience.
Note: This is not a performance, and Phoebe Bridgers will not be in attendance. Presented in partnership with Spotify.
Presented on the largest screen in Virginia, acclaimed photographer and National Geographic night sky explorer Babak Tafreshi presents a visual experience culminating from two decades spent documenting extraordinary nocturnal scenes around the globe. Experience Lost Weekend in a breathtaking audiovisual journey that travels from the star-filled skies of Madagascar and the shimmering Northern Lights above Iceland's glaciers to the powerful storms across Texas. Filmed in nearly 20 countries, with no computer-generated imagery, this show brings audiences closer to the natural world through stunning nightscapes that blend music, science, art and a sense of discovery. The experience invites audiences to reflect on our connection to the universe while celebrating the beauty of dark skies. Presented in partnership with COSM.

The approximate run time of the show will be one (1) hour.
We’re offering two performances of the same program in The Dome at 6:30 and 8:15 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 for the 6:30 p.m. show, and at 7:30 for the 8:15 p.m. show.
Science Museum members may purchase tickets for $17.50. Tickets for non-members are $20. Tickets are non-refundable, and may not be transferred and resold.
Fan Advisory: Yondr Pouches
Lose the phone and get lost in the music instead. This listening event for Phoebe Bridgers’ new album, Lost Weekend, will be phone-free with Yondr.
Please note:
- Please do not bring other electronic devices, including smartwatches, smart glasses or wearable technology that glows, as they will not be allowed inside.
- All phones, smart watches, recording and filming devices will be secured in Yondr pouches upon arrival / entrance to The Dome.
- You'll keep the Yondr pouch with you, and can access your devices once you leave The Dome.
- Guests who use recording devices during the event will be escorted out of The Dome.
We appreciate your cooperation in creating a phone-free listening experience.
Additional Info
Guests can purchase candy, popcorn, drinks and alcoholic beverages from concessions before the start of the show. A valid ID will be required to purchase alcoholic beverages. Food and beverages may be taken into The Dome and enjoyed during the show.
Each show can seat 250 guests. This event may sell out, so please purchase your tickets in advance.
The Phoebe Bridgers Lost Weekend Album Release is open to all ages. Some of the artist’s music may refer to adult themes or include adult language. Guests should use their own discretion to determine if this show is appropriate for younger guests.
Note: The show will feature moving images and music in an immersive environment. It may not be suitable or cause discomfort for guests with light or sound sensitivities, sensory concerns or certain pre-existing conditions.
Science Museum exhibitions are not open during the event. Guests will only have access to The Dome.
