Slow down and get crafty with us in The Forge! Learn the art of hand sewing in this creative workshop, as you create your very own felt snail plushie. Along the way, you’ll uncover fascinating facts about these shelled gastropods, from their incredible shells to the surprising ways they explore and survive in the wild. Perfect for beginners and experienced crafters alike, this hands-on workshop combines creativity, science, and plenty of fun. This workshop will be held daily at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. except for August 3–7; 15-22 and August 30–31.

About Maker Workshops

Forge Workshops are included with Science Museum admission. Advance registration is required for all guests including members. This can be done online when buying your tickets or in person at the Guest Services desk. Please note, Forge Workshops often fill up quickly. Maker Workshops are 45-minute experiences led by Forge Facilitators. These project-based workshops result in a take-home item and are limited to 12 participants. All participants in this workshop must be 8 years or older. Participants under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
