Run up that hill into an alternate dimension of the Science Museum that is kid free! Science on Tap returns for the summer with a 21+ event full of mystery, light and speed. Round up your band of misfits and join us on a curiosity voyage!

What’s Happening?

You don’t have to travel to Hawkins for things to get strange. The lights will be on—and flickering—at the Science Museum as we explore the stranger things of science.

  • Are you strong like El or developing your powers like Will? Find out in our levitation arcade as you explore flight, magnets, racing and more while moving items without touching them.
  • Channel your inner Dustin and create and sport a homemade trucker hat.
  • See if you can satisfy a demogorgon’s appetite as you explore carnivorous plants and your taste for bugs.
  • Learn about animals with incredible adaptations that Steve could only dream of having.
  • Become an expert in light like Joyce as you learn about how light can be bounced, blocked and even bent.
  • While there’s no evidence of wormholes in space, there are black holes and other equally mind blowing (not flaying) phenomena! Explore those and more in a custom, live astronomy show in The Dome.
  • Stop by the touring exhibition Rescue to learn more about the science that supports first responders who step up to help others. We see you, Karen Wheeler.

If that wasn’t enough, we’re including admission to our summer touring exhibition, Survival of the Slowest in your Science on Tap admission. Why? Because sloths spend about 90% of their lives … wait for it … upside down!

Should you stay or should you go? Obey your master! Head to Science on Tap on July 23!

Who Can Come?

Science on Tap events are kid-free. Only those 21+ can attend. Even if you’re not drinking alcohol, you still need to be 21 and you must bring your ID.

What’s the Attire?

The options are bigger than the Abyss! Vintage tees and stone-wash jeans, pink dresses and knee-high socks, Ghostbuster or monster costumes, etc. Or lean into the other upside down and channel the star of our summer exhibition, Lulu the sloth. Just be sure you don’t wear a costume that covers your face. Worried about your costume? Don’t! Nobody normal ever accomplished anything meaningful in this world!

What about Food and Drink?

We’ll have local food trucks (El Guapo, River City Wood Fire, Shakedown Eats and Sweet Xscape) onsite and bars will sell a variety of adult beverages. Non-alcoholic drinks, nostalgic candy and popcorn will be available at concessions.

How Do I Get Tickets?

Tickets are $18 for Science Museum members and $25 for non-members. Timed tickets will be available with a 6, 6:30 or 7 p.m. entry time to minimize entry lines. All guests can stay until the end of the event at 10 p.m.

Tickets for this event are capped to help ensure a superior guest experience. The event could sell out, so be sure you purchase your tickets early. Tickets are only available online.

Drink tickets will be for sale at the event. All event and drink ticket sales are final.
